Alice Johnson is a Ghanaian cultural journalist and multidisciplinary artist dedicated to amplifying African and Diaspora narratives through storytelling, scholarship, and performance. She is the founder of AJ4short, a digital platform that reviews, documents, and celebrates African cinema and theatre, with a special focus on precolonial histories, cultural memory, and underrepresented voices.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Education, Winneba, specializing in Theatre Arts, and is an alumna of the Multichoice Talent Factory (MTF). Alice’s body of work bridges stage, screen, and digital media. Her original solo play The Legend of Fankobaa reimagines folklore as a tool for environmental justice, while her screenwriting credits include the AMVCA-nominated film REVISIT (Showmax). She is also the founder of Found Space Productions, a theatre collective dedicated to producing stories by Africans for Africans, celebrating the continent’s rich storytelling traditions through live performance.

Alice is a Berlinale 2026 Talent, 2025 Durban Filmmart Talent, was a 2023 Fellow of the Inside Nollywood Film Journalism Program, and her criticism and curatorial work have been featured by institutions such as the British Museum and SOAS University of London. She regularly moderates and hosts film and theatre conversations across Africa and beyond, bringing depth, clarity, and cultural insight to every space she enters. She is also a recipient of the 2025 Playwright Commission Project by The Writers Project of Ghana. At the heart of her work is a commitment to expanding critical discourse around African storytelling and ensuring its global visibility.
